The Markie
Foundation Donates Additional $28,000 to George Mark Children's House
Foundation's second major contribution enables facility to continue providing care in home-like environment
ROCKLIN,
CA, July 15, 2006--At its annual golf tournament dinner, The Markie Foundation presented The George Mark Children's House a check for $28,000, representing the Foundation's second major donation to the organization.
The funds will enable GMCH to continue offering pediatric nursing care and other services to families in need. A portion of the disbursement, made in honor of Danielle Lee Burigsay, helped purchase specifcally-need equipment at the facility.
In May 2003, The Markie Foundation donated $15,000 in support of the GMCH opening. The George Mark Children's House in San Leandro, CA, is the first freestanding pediatric hospice and respite care facility in the United States. Services are funded by donations and free to families who use the home.
