The Markie
Foundation 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Event
raises funds and awareness for children's hospice
SUNOL, CA, July 25, 2003--The Markie Foundation held its
4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 25, 2003, at Sunol
Valley Golf Club in Sunol, California. More than 130 golfers played
in the tournament, which raised in total just over $11,000 for
children's hospice programs in Northern California.
An
additional $7,000 in donations for the year-to-date boosts the
Foundation's total funds raised in 2003 to more than $18,000.
With this amount, the The Foundation has raised approximately
$112,000 since its inception in 1999, surpassing its goal to break
the $100,000 mark.
"We
are extremely proud of our accomplishment and excited to share
it with the many people who continue to support us," says
Janis Wuelfing, co-founder. "This year's golf tournament
and direct contributions have kept our momentum going strong and
are enabling us to help develop additional children's hospice
programs"
Golfers
enjoyed the scramble competition, food and beverages, tee prizes,
and a great golf experience.
The
winning score (62) was carded by Matthew Deveny, Lauren Faith,
Joe Perry, and Nate Perry. Second place (t-63) went to Dave Johndreau,
